Facility Information

Located in the heart of downtown, the Convention Center is the ideal venue for your event. We’re all about location, location, location! City, County and State agencies are within walking distance of our doorstep. The downtown/midtown area is bustling with sidewalk cafes, coffee houses and restaurants. Capitol Park is just across the street from the Center so take advantage of a leisurely stroll through the breath taking grounds or if adventure is what you’re after – jog around the perimeter of the grounds for a one mile workout. Since completing the expansion in 1994, we are proud to know that we have helped Meeting Planners “think outside the box” to create that special event. Our 31 meeting rooms and Exhibit Halls A-E can be as flexible as you need us to be. Call our booking office for availability.

Meeting rooms:

The 12 meeting rooms located on the west side of the facility range in size from 300 to 9,550 square feet, and can accommodate 50 to 1,350 with theater-style seating, or 20 to 575 with banquet seating. Our bank of rooms on the second level (Rooms 202-204) have floor to ceiling windows showcasing a beautiful view of our sculpture park, with a wrap-around balcony for your guests to enjoy the cool delta breezes. Perfect for a range of conference and banquet functions, each room is beautifully appointed and offers state-of-the-art services. The rooms can be rented individually or you can work with our Booking Coordinator to design the right set-up for you - flexibility is a key component.

West Lobby - in addition to the meeting rooms, we also offer a 6,000 two-story function space that adds a special flair for your registration needs, table top displays, and receptions or for simply hanging out with colleagues and meeting new friends.

Ballroom:

The 24,000 square foot ballroom, with its lush colors, high ceilings and fully carpeted floors, allows for a comfortable yet elegant ambience. Muted, natural décor serve as a backdrop, allowing your event to shine. The ballroom can seat a banquet for over 1,500 people or meeting for 2,600 people. The 9,000 square foot East Lobby located just outside the ballroom makes for a wonderful setting for a reception or break service, and can be utilized to avoid bottlenecks at registration as well. Corridors provide efficient food service and staff access without getting in the way of your guests, while strategically-located phone, electrical, computer and fax hookups round out the amenities. Additionally, there are nine meeting rooms available on the same floor which create extra breakout space, speaker ready rooms or staff offices. Let you imagination run wild with all the extra space.

Ballroom Terrace:

Located just outside the East Lobby, take advantage of Sacramento’s canopy of trees and blue skies to stage your special event on our outdoor patio terrace, where your guests will be in the company of not only a spectacular view but a growing collection of art from the Art in Public Places program.

Community Center Theater:

Opened in 1974, this pristine 2,452 seat theater lends a retro-modern atmosphere to concerts, and performing arts groups year-round. The acoustics are first-rate, providing the perfect venue for symphonies, choral concerts and Broadway tours to one-night concerts ranging from Alison Krauss to Sacramento Taiko Dan. While patrons have described it as an intimate space, the three levels of seating areas allow promoters and customers alike the flexibility of price ranges and viewpoints.

Memorial Auditorium:

A true multi-purpose venue, the Memorial Auditorium has brought audiences center stage for everything from championship boxing and ice shows to rock concerts and graduation ceremonies. Completed in 1927 for just under $850,000, the venerable auditorium is one of the most recognized buildings in the region. Nominated to the National register of Historic Places in 1977, the building has many unique design elements and features a rare tilting arena floor, that when dropped using a hydraulics system, raises the rear of the floor approximately four feet to provide inclined theater seating. There are three levels of seating that can accommodate up to 3,800 people for a reserved seat event.
